El clasico, a well deserved draw

What was the most expected game of the Primera Division happened yesterday. The duel between Barcelona and Real Madrid promised a spectacle. But like in football with a round ball in the centre of action, the end of the game turned into a draw, a 1-1 score and with the 49th goal of the season for Messi who breaks another record.

Guardiola: “I think it’s a good result, considering we played with a great team. We are satisfied. Anything could happen in this game. We could lose. We have eight points more and a better goal difference, with six stages before the final.”

Murinho: “All my men did a good job. We moved our lines further back tonight in order to play a more straightforward game. Adebayor provided the speed and depth in counterattack we needed. We managed to draw and nearly won the match thanks to hard work and the support of a fantastic crowd. We must accept the draw given the circumstances that arose in the game.”

Barcelona’s players were unhappy of the conditions on Bernabeu:
The field was good, but the grass was too big, too high. But at home they can do what they want.” Puyol said.

The first from the 4 matches ended. Three more are to come, stay tuned.

Murinho & Real, dream team

One of the best coaches in the world, Jose Murinho, tells us the story of his life, about a great career as a coach and the great moments experienced on Real Madrid‘s bench. Mourinho has 17 trophies as coach: two Champions League trophies – one in 2004 with FC Porto and one last year with Inter Milan and one UEFA cup in 2003.

Jose Murinho : “For me, the game with the number 500 has special significance. I had a full career, working at the highest level and I coached the best teams in the world. I trained in England, Italy and now in Spain. That says it all. I want to be coach of Real to match 600 of my career.”

Mourinho got to Real Madrid with the hope of a second Champions League trophy, who has not won the trophy since 2002. The management team got rid Spanish coach Manuel Pellegrini and brought into its place Mourinho by paying the termination clause of his contract with Inter Milan, summing around to eight million euros

Shock on Bernabeu, Real -3 points

Bernabeu stadium is the witness of the shock that stroke Spanish Primera. Real Madrid faced a defeat in front of its own supporters against a low rank team, Sporting Gijon.

After a game like this, Real has compromised almost all the chances for winning the championship. The shock was double for Jose Mourinho. Without some heavy pieces, Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzema, Marcelo and Xabi Alonso, his Real Madrid suffered an embarrassing defeat in front of modest Gijon (ranked 15): 0-1. Beside diminishing chances for title for Real Madrid, Murinho broke his record of home invincibility, old since 23 February 2002 in a 2-3 with Beira Mar, when he was coach at Porto.

This result is due to the referee Gonzalez Gonzalez, who denied a penalty in the first half fot the galactics with the help of a poor defense performed by Real’s players and not to mention all the mistakes and misses at the end.

Jose Murinho reached No. 150 in the count for the home winnings and No. 14 from winning at home since he is on the ropes at Real Madrid.

Barcelona loses Messi!

The favorite player for Golden Ball, Lionel Messi, might trigger a new fight between his club and his national team after his injury and absence to the friendly match Argentina-Costa Rica finished in a perfect tie, 0-0.

Argentine Federation President in a statement confirmed the fact that Messi did not play against Costa Rica because of an injury and said that everything comes from a contraction of the adductor muscle of his right foot.
It seems that people from Barcelona are very unhappy with the situation, especially the fact that Messi has flown for 27 hours for a friendly match in which he not played.

Injury does not seem to be so serious as we feared, but a definitive diagnosis will be known after further tests.” the Catalan club announced today.

For Messi and company it’s expected a full end of a year, with matches on the treadmill because his club team is engaged in the battle for both domestic competitions, and for the Champions League trophy.

Barcelona will travel to Villareal in the next stage and try to keep their lead of five points in front of Real Madrid, the galactic team will play against Sporting Gijon. But Messi has about o% chances to deliver for this one.

Delayed games causing problems in Primera Division

The fire started on the TV rights of the Primera Division. Matches of 30th stage of the Spanish first league have been postponed because of the strike teams, but not all clubs have accepted the decision.

The clubs that don’t support the strike are seeking for the annulment of a law that requires that at least one game a week must run free on a TV post that does not have broadcasting rights.

Spanish Federation (LFP) said, regarding the existing problems, that there has been no progress in talks with the clubs, the Spanish government was involved too. “Dialogue has been postponed till April”, informed the LFP.

If it will be a permanent decision, the postponement will affect the activity of the first two leagues of Spain, even if not all clubs agree with the idea. Some even asked a court in Madrid to grant the match dispute. Among them are Athletic Bilbao, Espanyol, Real Sociedad, Sevilla, Villarreal and Zaragoza.

Leg 30 in Spain:
Sevilla-Zaragoza
Getafe-Valencia
Villarreal-Barcelona
Almeria-Athletic Bilbao
Real Madrid-Sporting Gijon
Osasuna-Atletico Madrid
Real Sociedad-Hercules
Levante-Malaga
Deportivo La Coruna-Mallorca
