Barcelona, a walk in the park!

Last night, UEFA Champions League offered us a magic evening. The entire Europe were awaiting the game between Barcelona and Shakhtar Donetsk. A game that was announced as a balanced one, with good odds on both sides, turned out to be a bit different.

With a shy game, the champions from Ukraine got the first taste of a Champions League quarter-final, when Iniesta puts the ball in the net in the 2nd minute from the start. Not having a lot time to recover from a shocking start, Alves served by Iniesta passes Pyatov and takes the score at 2-0 for the Catalans.

The break was a hope for recovery for Shakhtar’s players but, just minutes after, Barca strikes again through Pique. The Eastern Star was crashing bit by bit after Keita wrote his name on the scoreboard. 4-0 Barcelona.

The spark was just for a moment when Luiz Adriano scored the honor goal for Shakhtar, a moment forgotten after Xavi sealed a qualification after the first leg with a score of 5-1.

Shock on Bernabeu, Real -3 points

Bernabeu stadium is the witness of the shock that stroke Spanish Primera. Real Madrid faced a defeat in front of its own supporters against a low rank team, Sporting Gijon.

After a game like this, Real has compromised almost all the chances for winning the championship. The shock was double for Jose Mourinho. Without some heavy pieces, Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzema, Marcelo and Xabi Alonso, his Real Madrid suffered an embarrassing defeat in front of modest Gijon (ranked 15): 0-1. Beside diminishing chances for title for Real Madrid, Murinho broke his record of home invincibility, old since 23 February 2002 in a 2-3 with Beira Mar, when he was coach at Porto.

This result is due to the referee Gonzalez Gonzalez, who denied a penalty in the first half fot the galactics with the help of a poor defense performed by Real’s players and not to mention all the mistakes and misses at the end.

Jose Murinho reached No. 150 in the count for the home winnings and No. 14 from winning at home since he is on the ropes at Real Madrid.
