New coach for Inter Milan

Big news from Seria A. Claudio Ranieri has officially become the new coach of Inter Milan. He has signed a contract binding him to the club until 30 June 2013, replacing Gian Piero Gasperini, the coach that in the officials opinion didn’t manage to fulfill their objectives.

With a huge CV, training teams like Valencia, Chelsea and Roma, Ranieri is confident that he is the solution for Inter’s crisis: “I’m coming to bring Inter to life!”

Inter is a great team. They had a bad start of the new season and I will have to talk with the players to understand why, or which was the reason. We need to bring enthusiasm and speed to make a change. I cannot promise that we will win, but I think this team has much to offer and needs to demonstrate it. ” said Ranieri.

With just one point in 3 games and the loss of last game against Novara, Inter is on the 18th place in Serie A. For Ranieri, this will be almost like an impossible mission. The first practice is scheduled today, a new start for Inter Milan.

Gasperini in danger

Things are getting frustrating for Inter. Massimo Moratti patience seems to have reached the limit. Heads of Inter already have a plan in case the coach Gian Piero Gasperini fails to pull up the next 3 games.

Moratti is not interested in the game with Novarra, but will make a decision regarding the technical bench after the game with Bologna in Serie A, and CSKA Moscow in Champions League.

Most likely replacements of Gasperini will be one of the followings: Gianfranco Zola, Roberto Baggio, DelioRossi and Claudio Ranieri, all free of contract at this time.

But Gasperini still thinks that he is doing a good job: “This is a team that was used to playing deep and hitting on the counter. At the moment we need to focus on reinforcing the midfield and laying some solid foundations so that we can get the balance right; we can then build on that with the quality of our strikers.”

After two stages, Inter managed to get one point in Serie A. This season, they missed the Italian Super Cup and have not won since July 30, on the friendly match with Celtic. This might be the right moment to wake up!

Surprise brought by Trabzonspor AŞ

As the most important competition from the European football, Champions League, has started, the beautiful goals didn’t wait long to appear. But with the goals came also the surprises, even if we are only in the group stage.

The shock was brought last night in the game between Internazionale Milano and less known Trabzonspor AŞ. Şenol Güneş’s men first managed to shake one of Italy’s best team and the 2010 champions, as Ondřej Čelůstka struck to secure a famous win on the club’s debut in Champions League.

After a first balanced first half, when both team tried to take the lead, something changed. The second period brought another Trabzonsport team in the field. Motivated and wanting to make a good figure in front of their own fans, they pushed until, they got results.

Čelůstka won an aerial duel for Halil Altıntop who crashed a fierce shot against the bar. Čelůstka reacted first, picking up the loose ball, and shooting it back across César for the winning goal.

Many have talked about Gasperini decision for change the three-man defence for a four-pillared back line sustained by Joel Obi, Esteban Cambiasso and Javier Zanetti, where the creativity was inexistent.

Luckily for Inter is that we are just in the group stage and can recover. For Trabzonspor AŞ on the other hand was a well deserved victory with 3 important points achieved.

Chelsea wants Sneijder from Inter

Usually transfers mean good news for a team, but I’m not sure that that’s a universal rule. Inter Milan is about to give up the second big name from the team this summer and the main reason for that is because  of Chelsea’s huge offer, seen like an important financial opportunity.

Roman Abramovich is ready to give up Luka Modric, Tottenham not wanting to sell the Croatian midfielder. In its place, the owner of Chelsea wants Wesley Sneijder, a perfect and maybe even a better replacement.

The Dutchman was wanted in the summer by both Manchester United and Arsenal but without success. This time, Sneijder’s chances of reaching to London are pretty high because Chelsea want a player from Inter team, and that could seal the deal.

The officials from Inter asked from Chelsea in return of Sneijder 30 million euros and a player, Florent Malouda. The situation is positive considering that when Abramovich puts his eyes on something, he usually gets what he wants.

With a player like Sneijder playing for them, the Blues could be the next champions in Premier League. But till the end, there is a long long way and they have to face United and City, two teams in a very good shape.
