New coach for Inter Milan

Big news from Seria A. Claudio Ranieri has officially become the new coach of Inter Milan. He has signed a contract binding him to the club until 30 June 2013, replacing Gian Piero Gasperini, the coach that in the officials opinion didn’t manage to fulfill their objectives.

With a huge CV, training teams like Valencia, Chelsea and Roma, Ranieri is confident that he is the solution for Inter’s crisis: “I’m coming to bring Inter to life!”

Inter is a great team. They had a bad start of the new season and I will have to talk with the players to understand why, or which was the reason. We need to bring enthusiasm and speed to make a change. I cannot promise that we will win, but I think this team has much to offer and needs to demonstrate it. ” said Ranieri.

With just one point in 3 games and the loss of last game against Novara, Inter is on the 18th place in Serie A. For Ranieri, this will be almost like an impossible mission. The first practice is scheduled today, a new start for Inter Milan.

Gasperini in danger

Things are getting frustrating for Inter. Massimo Moratti patience seems to have reached the limit. Heads of Inter already have a plan in case the coach Gian Piero Gasperini fails to pull up the next 3 games.

Moratti is not interested in the game with Novarra, but will make a decision regarding the technical bench after the game with Bologna in Serie A, and CSKA Moscow in Champions League.

Most likely replacements of Gasperini will be one of the followings: Gianfranco Zola, Roberto Baggio, DelioRossi and Claudio Ranieri, all free of contract at this time.

But Gasperini still thinks that he is doing a good job: “This is a team that was used to playing deep and hitting on the counter. At the moment we need to focus on reinforcing the midfield and laying some solid foundations so that we can get the balance right; we can then build on that with the quality of our strikers.”

After two stages, Inter managed to get one point in Serie A. This season, they missed the Italian Super Cup and have not won since July 30, on the friendly match with Celtic. This might be the right moment to wake up!

Totti wants more

The earth shakes in AS Roma’s playground after the   sporting director Walter Sabatini has harshly criticized Francesco Totti, accusing him that his “vanity” is “killing the team” through his opposition regarding the new coach Luis Enrique, who did not placed the Italian player in the first  11 since he came to Roma.

This situation is about to kill the team. Totti must deal with these exclusions in another way. He must learn to manage the situation better, he must put aside any form of vanity in order to help the group.” said Walter Sabatini.

Totti, who reached his 34 years, was just a substitute player in the game with Slovan Bratislava from the Europa League play-off round. Annoyed by the situation, he came the next day with a workout shirt with the inscription “Basta! / Enough”, making referral to the coach.

Sabatini continued: “In the modern football, there can be no untouchable players. We are in an impasse and I feel the danger of this situation that needs to be solved. Otherwise, there will be no team and there will be football.”

Francesco Totti is in the 20th season playing for AS Roma, many years in which he became an important voice of Roma. He was one of the people who opposed from the start to the coming of Luis Enrique as a coach and Franco Baldini on the general manager position.
