Ferguson’s strategy

Manager Alex Ferguson is desperate to take revenge against Barcelona after that league final lost in front of the Catalans two years ago with 2-0.

Barcelona vs Espanyol, the Catalan derby

With no worries left after they’ve booked their ticket to Wembley, the leader of Primera Division turned his attention to the league setting on Camp Nou a local battle against their old time rivals RCD Espanyol.

Espanyol struggled to keep up with Guardiola’s soldiers but with no chance to succeed.

Since the beginning of the season, no team has managed to score a goal against FC Barcelona in the first 15 minutes and has not lost their last 27 official home games in all competitions.

FC Porto is in the final

The Portuguese FC Porto are through to the 2010/11 UEFA Europa League final after they delivered a football with high on commitment and quality, their 5-1 first-leg advantage proving insurmountable for Villarreal CF, despite the Spanish side’s best efforts.

Watching the statistics is clearlly that Villiareal wanted to come back after the first leg humiliation, they were 2 times more active with double attempts on target and with three goals scored. But it wasn’t enough.

Porto obtained his victory and it worth’s its place in the final, a Portuguese one entirely.

Braga sends Benfica home

Braga scored a huge goal against Benfica and obtained the ticket in to the final of UEFA EUROPA League. The player responsible for this is Custodio which trough his goal brought qualification for his team.

Custodio: “It is such a joy to have scored the goal that took us through, but this is a team victory because we showed great togetherness.”

After this game, Domingos Paciência‘s team progressed to the first all-Portuguese UEFA final, a first for the northern club on such an elevated stage.

Real without Murinho?
